Margaret, I wish there was a word to adequately describe Donald Trump. For the first time, I regret calling Sarah Palin a bitch. Not because she isn’t – she is and so am I – but because I realize now the power of that word. It concerns me that we have a word like bitch – which seems to fit so perfectly for Sarah and for me – and yet we don’t have the equivalent word to describe a man like Trump. Donald Trump is a…
Asshole? Yes. But that’s almost a compliment for him and is certainly not gender specific.
Fat ass? Well, sure. But then again, so am I.
Jackass? You bet. But even that lacks the gender clarity that bitch has.
Considering everyone actually has an ass, I don’t think that word is going to pass muster for a good descriptor for Trump. We could descend into other body parts but Lord knows I don’t need to hear yet another conversation about Donald’s unmentionables.
Donald J. Trump is not a decent person, and his indecency cannot be simplified down to one word. All the worst words seem to fit but the whole of Donald Trump is just greater than the sum of all those words. Clearly the man is not right in the head. He is fundamentally flawed – Big League. But a word to describe him escapes me.
We now know that he humiliated a 19-year-old girl because she didn’t conform to his definition of beauty. No positive encouragement when she gained weight – public humiliation was Trump’s choice for corrective action. One woman out of billions was crowned Miss Universe that year and Donald still found a way to criticize her looks. This man is a misogynist, yes, but that one word falls way short when you consider he also made fun of a disabled person and attacked the grieving parents of a soldier killed in battle only to then accept someone else’s Purple Heart and joke how easy it was to get. I didn’t make any of this up, honey. This man is a…
I still can’t find the word.
Before the debates, I was watching the news, something akin to watching an episode of the Twilight Zone these days, and a member of Trump’s campaign team, Kellyanne something, casually mentioned Hillary’s questionable health. As if Hillary is going to drop dead at any minute, but Trump, a sniffling sack of cholesterol, is the epitome of fitness. So here is my question: Are we concerned about her health because she is old or because she is a woman or both? Either way, the fact that Republicans even care about a woman’s health is truly remarkable considering up until now they’ve been closing down women’s health clinics faster than Chris Christie closes bridges.
I saw a movie last night that I wish everybody could see. In a year where two senior citizens are running for President, no one is talking about the real health, financial and social concerns that senior citizens face every day. Thank goodness Rosemary Rodriguez made her movie, Silver Skies. At least somebody is having the conversation.
But with Donald we get conversations about sexism, racism, egoism… Anything but humanism and humanitarianism. How is this race even close?
Donald thinks he won the debate and he is now stating that Hillary Clinton is stuck in the past. This from a man who wants to roll back civil rights, remove reproductive rights, reverse environmental protections, and decrease the minimum wage. Bless his heart but that man is a…
Damn it. What is the word?
Now I hear in the next debate Donald plans to attack Hillary for how she handled her husband’s infidelity. According to Rudy Giuliani, Trump should have done it in the first debate. This from two men who have had 6 wives and at least four affairs between them. Giuliani is definitely an asshole. The word just fits him. But Trump…. Trump is… Trump is a…
Maybe Hillary can have a summit with the three Mrs. Trumps and the three Mrs. Giulianis to determine how best to handle the issue of infidelity. I bet they all can’t decide if there is one best way to handle such a personal issue, but I bet they all would agree that Donald probably shouldn’t have an opinion on the matter.
I guess Trump is simply TRUMP. He is just too foul for words. I mean it. Really.
FROM MARGARET:
I believe the word you are looking for is Asshat. Oh, and I am glad you saw Silver Skies. I just love George Hamilton and doesn’t Mariette Hartley still look fantastic. Too bad those two aren’t running for President.

Look, look, what I just found! (and in cnn.com of all places!):
“And here’s an amazing coincidence. A recent book cataloged all the synonyms for bullshit, and one of the oldest dates back to the 1400s. It originally referred to trickery and scamming, although its meaning has evolved to include general nonsense and insignificance. That word: trumpery.”

So well Stated. It saddens me that words are given a gender. Take the “C” word for female for instance. What word so foul is there for a man? I cannot think of one. Yet men seem to unleash that word so quickly the minute they are challenged by any female with a brain. I have been called that for the silliest of reasons , most recently over a football blog. How dare I presume to know more about football than the average “Joe Blow” ! I agree that a word for Donald Trump has not been defined yet because it would have to equal the way I feel every time I am called the “C” word !

(I posted the following elsewhere first, but it may help those here who are working to convince family/friends/community, of the importance of voting responsibly)
Every Presidential election we hear that a vote for a third party, or write-in, candidate is a vote for one of the candidates for either of the two major parties.
This is true simply because, at least in recent memory, no third party candidate has had a REASONABLE, REALISTIC chance of winning the election.
People who still can’t countenance voting for either of the two major party candidates will continue voting third party, or write-in, in protest.
As is their right.
Others will vote third party or write-in because that is their considered choice, as the best person to lead the country.
As is their right.
However, there are people out there who will vote third party or write-in because they are falling prey to the false equivalence, and false sense of security (i.e., “Trump is a disgraceful waste of space, but since Clinton is sure to win, I can vote in protest”).
Which is also their right, but it’s just a wee bit selfish and irresponsible, and could well come back to bite them. (See Brexit and regret)
So, if you are one of those voters whose reason not to vote for Hillary Clinton in this election has more to do with perception than reality, you may want to do some research on her policies (vs soundbites from mainstream media and/or Trump), before you throw your vote behind a candidate who cannot win.

Trump is the worst excuse for a human being on the face of the earth. The fact that he has to talk about Hilary’s health or Bills’ infidelity is because he is too ignorant to speak about the real issues. He doesn’t have a clue nor does he care about this country or the world. He wants to be the dictator just like his BFF Putin. It is all about him and his ego and desire for ultimate power.

Apparently NO ONE paused to give even a moment’s thought to why the President vetoed it. Gee… Nobody told them the Saudis might not like it! How were CONGRESSCRITTERS supposed to think of that possibility all by their little selves…?

I reached back a century or two for “pusillanimous poltroon,” “tomnoddy” “drivel wit”…and to describe Donnie’s attempt to alter reality with his special brand of lie, call it Trumpaganda. The pols like Ryan, Cruz, Gingrich, and Giuliani, who have caved in and supported him, I call his Partners in Slime. The scary part is that once Trump is gone from the scene, all his supporters will still be here looking for another leader to take them by the brain and lead them. Gawd help us!

Hey, Easier – Well, isn’t THAT pretty GD disgusting…? But it’s so “traditional”… Jewish women must cover their hair, because men can’t resist being seduced by it. Muslim women must cover just about every part of themselves, except sometimes their eyeballs, because a female shoulder or a forearm (and god knows what else) is beyond any dude’s ability to resist the overpowering seduction of it. And, of course, any woman around here who’s raped “asked for it” because her skirt was “too short,” or her tank top was “too snug”…
Guess for a lot of guys, who are apparently incapable of any actual thought, just having a set exterior plumbing absolves them of any responsibility for anything they do…

And now he is promising to go down The Road to Bill’s Indiscretions…
He just hasn’t a clue, does he? Could he possibly pick a more treacherous path to tread, one that will – among so many things – give rise to an avalanche of pro-Hillary sentiment from every single woman who has ever stuck with, or “forgiven,” a philandering husband, and feels she did the “right thing”…?
And he, HE, TRUMP, is, of course, a multiple philanderer himself – as well as a liar, a sociopath, a thief, a scofflaw, a narcissist, a completely delusional egotist, and a dangerous huckster of the highest order.
He, Trump will regret nothing, because he never does. His destruction of the GOP as a viable political entity is almost complete.

Dave – Just a few “notes”…
1. “White people” didn’t “found” America; white people stole it from the people who were already here.
2. No; you’re not “taking her back.” (Look around, pal…)
3. You don’t get to decide where women “belong.” Women decide where women belong – and it’s probably not at your house, BTW.
4. “When Trump wins” YOU will be paying for his golden toilet seats, and cleaning his golden bowls, because he certainly won’t. (After all, he’s “smart,” and you’re not. He said so, remember?)
5. Fortunately, the chances of Trump’s “winning” are probably about the same as those of your volunteering for gender reassignment surgery.
You have a nice day, now!

You guys in the US just don’t know how to swear properly. 🙂 Here in the UK, a man like Trump would be referred to as a “cunt”; but in the US it’s apparently impossible to use that term to insult a man. “Wanker” is another British swearword that would work quite well; and helpfully, in the UK, “trump” is slang for “fart”.
I think the best you could do in the States is probably to call him a “douchebag”.
But IMO the best way to describe Trump is not to resort to invective at all but to calmly and accurately describe him as what he is; and the word you want there is “psychopath”.
Trump is a lot smarter than most people think, and strictly speaking he isn’t racist or misogynist, he just doesn’t regard people as being people; to him, other human beings are either objects (to be manipulated to serve his purposes) or sources of confirmation of his own magnificence. If he were actually as stupid and immature as many people think, he would be far less dangerous.

Does he not understand those words? It is about this country and what we are going to leave behind for our children. I have no clue where he stands on so many issues. I think you have to get a bit creative to come up with the right word to apply to the Donald. I would suggest “Pusbag,” since pus involves infection: The pimple has become a boil.
I suspect the reason there is no male equivalent of woman-shaming words like “Bitch” or “Slut” is that so many men would find those labels to be a compliment. What they hate to be called is “Coward”, “Wimp”, “Wuss”.
If you are willing to involve genitalia, men seem to hate being called a “Pussy” more than they hate being called a “Prick.” Worm” is also considered very insulting, but “Worm” is not flamboyant enough to describe Trump. I see him as an over-inflated bag of pus that is oozing poison like a semi dormant volcano. Everyone is afraid the boil will pop, that he will erupt into a toxic explosion that cannot be contained. It’s happened before. But today’s old farts like me only remember hearing about it. Most people who lived it aren’t here anymore. Shows how much people learn from history.

Give it up, Joe.
Either Hillary Clinton is innocent of criminal activity–after millions spent by Repuglicans in Congress trying to find something to charge her with, and siccing the FBI on her as well–or she’s a criminal mastermind who has managed to get away with it, legally speaking.
Now, your precious Drumfsterfire, in all his tiny hands glory, is having all his dirty laundry–bankruptcies, lawsuits, federal investigations over his ‘charitable’ foundation, treasonous relationships with Cuba during the embargo years, and with Russia under Putin, and more–brought out into the light of public scrutiny.
Drumf may be the ‘perfect’ candidate for white supremacists and misogynists. The rest of the US, and the world, know better.

I’d hate to adulterate the English language by relegating any words (even bad words) in reference to this guy (my apologies to the word ‘guy’). I say we use his own damn name. Except we have a critical mass here. There’s John Stumpf too directing his brood to scam his customers for profit – never mind the banking industry’s role in the financial crisis, when there’s unfettered bilking to do! I say these peeps (my apology to the word ‘peeps’) should be called “strumpfs”. And that’s anyone whose position, power, or male ego becomes masturbatory to the point that it’s the behavioral equivalency of masturbating in public, knowing it and shrugging your shoulders and saying, “…yeah, and (so what)?”. Donald Trump does this ceaselessly when he calls into talk shows just to publicly disparage people (and so what’s the word for / what do you call the people who allow this?). So we already know 2 strumpfs (Trump & Stumpf), also, Roger Ailes is a strumpf, bridge-closer Chris Christie is a strumpf, …who else?

Hi, Magen, and all… I’ve been looking at all these suggestions, off and on, all day, while trying to get my act together after a month out of the country (which is going extremely slowly, I must say…)
SO MANY good and amusing suggestions. But it does strike me that there’s pretty much a consensus, at least here on The Porch – and, please god, in the country as a whole when it comes time to vote – that whatever we call this creature, he remains what he is: A narcissistic sociopath to which the word “candidate” should never, ever have been attached.
So my question now becomes what do we call all these “Republicans” who have colluded in allowing him to be taken seriously? As if he could ever POSSIBLY run any country, let alone this one? What do we call a Paul Ryan…? A Ted Cruz, who sold his political soul (if there is such a thing) to the devil and actually ENDORSED this thing, after swearing he never would?
Ask the children and grandchildren of the Germans who capitulated to – or failed to take seriously – Hitler what they think of their parents and grandparents, and of themselves. It’s not pretty. Their ancestors’ collusion, and silence, haunts them to this day. I saw that more than twenty years ago among young Germans, and again only a few weeks ago.
It’s a dreadful legacy – and one our children and grandchildren should not have to bear.

I am sure the rapists, and killers would like to have a piece of his ass. Kidding aside, the word that comes to mind is dangerous and most disturbing are his poll numbers, which means there are lots of people who feel the way he feels that have come out from under the rocks and feel it’s okay to be a racist, mysogonist, etc. etc. So when the polls open in Florida on the 24th (early voting) I will be there front and center to cast my vote for HRC. I really cannot believe that we (they?) are having any conversation at all about President Clinton’s infidelities. Why was it so wrong for Mrs. Clinton to forgive him? Isn’t that the Christian way? Shouldn’t she be given points from the Republican community for standing by him? And it wasn’t even HER who cheated, but the two Repubs in this post did. It truly disturbs me about the double standard for men and women.

The challenge in finding the right word to describe The Trumpster is that he has already laid claim to all the “good words”. There is no single word that can adequately describe a bombastic, arrogant, self-absorbed huckster like him. His awfulness can only be captured by use of a multi-hyphenated phrase. I would suggest that The Trumpster is an “orange-haired shit-flinging weasel-dick”. There. I think that about sums it up.

So true, so true. Trump is a sociopath. He has no morals, no conscious. And unfortunately he doesn’t believe in any restraints. For trump. He lives in trump land. No one has ever said ‘no’ to him and he walks away from the consequences of his actions. If he’s such a ‘success’ why is he paid to get out and stay out by real businessmen? Why? Because he’s a fraud. A scam. A con man a grifter. What is worrisome is that he’s being played by Vlademer Putin. Trump is such a stupid chump he can’t see that he’s being used and when he loses his value to anyone will be zero. Perhaps that just what he is. A big FAT orange ZERO!

I think that he has actually provided us with the opportunity to create a NEW word for the dictionary! In future years the definition for the word TRUMP will be: misogynistic, racist, lying, rude, braggart.

One epithet that can work is douche or douchebag – something invented by men for women to clean something that wasn’t dirty in the first place, is totally useless to women and actually causes more problems that it was meant to fix.

I love Adrienne’s idea. Trump or trump head is the male bitch. Say it with disgust rolling from the lips.

See, that’s the thing. When it comes to Trump, words just fail me. He’s just not right. One of my friends says he’s like the kind of kid your mother wouldn’t let you play with. If you asked why you be told, “Because we don’t do that, that’s why!” If anyone spoke or behaved the way he does in my house he would be removed and not invited back. He’s just not right!

In future, I think his surname will have become a common noun to describe just the sort of person you have depicted in your post. But “trump,” or even “drumpf” lack the barb and sting of “bitch.” The term “cudgel-dick” just sprang to mind. I think it has possibilities.

PS – I left off the economic plan part of comment. The Committee for Responsible Federal Budget has measured the two economic plans of the candidates and said Trump’s plan will increase the debt by $5.3 trillion over the next ten years, where Clinton’s will increase it by only $200 billion. That is a 27x difference.
In addition, here is a quote from UK based Oxford Economics which runs counter to the Trump economic plan being the best suited:
“Donald Trump’s agenda risks putting the U.S. economy in recession while Hillary Clinton’s plans would have a modest positive impact, a new analysis shows. Oxford Economics, a forecasting firm, put the two candidates’ proposals side by side and analyzed them. Its conclusion: Clinton would be better for the economy.”

While there is much to critique Mr. Trump on with regard to his misogyny, racisim and xenophobia, the mainstream media needs to focus more on two things – his history and his economic plan.
Newsweek has done an excellent piece on his global dealings where he has dealt with some nefarious characters and offended some global leaders, plus the huge conflict of interest that would be caused if he should win. Plus, David Fahrenthold of The Washington Post has done excellent investigative work on Trump’s self-dealing with his Trump Foundation, plus his illegal campaign donation to the Florida AG so she would not press charges on Trump University, not joining three other class action lawsuits on alleged misrepresentation. It should be noted the NY AG is now investigating the Foundation and it could lose its tax exempt status if this is true.
Plus, the USA Today did a piece on June 1, 2016 about his 3,500 lawsuits in 45 years of business. By my math, that is 1 and 1/2 per week. If you sue Trump for his not paying you, he counters sues and outguns the painting, dry wall, electrician, plumber, landscaper who sometimes goes out of business, as a result.
In essence, this man exploits people for money, always has and still does. That includes, but is not limited to, evicting people from their homes, stiffing people for contractual payments and wages, six bankruptices, and renting his name to developers so they can charge more to unwitting buyers. As for the stiffing people identified above, an attorney who worked for him said Trump tends to claim bad service and does not pay quite often. He has even stiffed attorneys who are suing others.

I echo your sentiment that there isn’t a word gender specific enough and asshole specific enough to call him. I also echo your sentiment in how is this race even CLOSE? I am verklempt.

So many of today’s suggestions are still not gender specific the way ‘bitch’ is, which was Helen’s complaint in the first place–there’s no good word for a ‘man bitch.’ However, I think she may have coined a new one herself–whenever a man is being a nasty, spoiled, demanding, ignorant, petulant child (did I leave out anything there?), he should simply be referred to as a ‘trump.’ “Gee, Bill is sure being trumpy today; must be his time of month.” Or, “Dave is such a trump; I think he needs to get laid.” The word trump, used in context, should have the same negative connotations as bitch, c**t, etc. Thanks, Helen!

I’m afraid that asshat is too mild a word for Trump. Let’s remember that it came into being as a euphemism for asshole–a word that we’ve already determined is too weak to cover all of Trump’s shortcomings.
