Honestly, we are a little surprised you don’t get nearly this upset when they are killing our kids in school

Dear GOP,

We are very sorry that individuals keep trying to shoot Donald Trump. We absolutely do not condone political violence no matter how much we disagree with Trump’s policies and hateful rhetoric.  In fact, if Republican politicians would have joined us to pass sensible gun control, these assassination attempts might not have occurred at all. Honestly, we are a little surprised you don’t get nearly this upset when they are shooting our kids at school. Gun violence is gun violence regardless of the target, although Trump does act like he’s in High School.

And while we are talking about killing people… or more aptly, killing children.. let’s talk about killing babies after they are born or what Trump likes to call after birth abortions. It seems to be upsetting so many of you even though it’s not actually a thing. Honestly, we are a little surprised you don’t get nearly this upset when they are shooting our kids at school.

There are different types of abortions:  surgical and medical, early stage and late stage, planned and unplanned. They are vastly different but they do have one thing in common: they are healthcare.

No one is pro abortion. We’re pro access to legal and safe abortion when needed. Believe it or not, the ones none of us really like a whole lot are those planned, early ones. The ones where a woman accidentally gets pregnant before she is ready to become a mother. We’d like to reduce how many of those occur, but your GOP elected officials won’t join us in increasing funding for age-appropriate,  medically-accurate sex education. Honestly, you won’t join us in supporting any form of sex education, which is odd, because that is a surefire way to reduce the number of abortions.

I know, I know. You are going to say that young people shouldn’t have sex before marriage. Sure, sure.  Good luck with that. But I bet you have no idea how many married women have abortions too. And we’ll let you in on a little secret. Those late term abortions you hate so much… You know, the ones you like to depict with photos of fetuses sucking their thumbs, full of life with those healthy heartbeats you say you can hear even without the ultrasound? Yeah, let me tell you about those. Late term abortions really are awful because they are almost always wanted pregnancies that have gone horribly wrong. And yes, sometimes they happen in the third trimester. And if you truly had any empathy for the women who have to make that choice, you would be questioning your belief in a God before you would be questioning the choice of that woman.

Screw you for politicizing that one. No. Not screw you.  Screw Donald Trump and JD Vance for being idiots acting like women pull up to a Planned Parenthood drive-thru window ordering an abortion and fries. The GOP’s take on abortion is insulting. It suggests that women who have abortions and the doctors who provide them are evil and thoughtless. According to the GOP, millions of women are willy nilly aborting babies with all the care and consequences of men masturbating to porn.

Women deserve better. Doctors deserve better.

And talk about deserving better… Donald Trump doesn’t deserve to be shot at, but Americans certainly deserve better than Trump and his horrible VP pick. After birth abortions! Are you kidding me? As if attacking a pregnant woman dealing with the loss of a wanted pregnancy isn’t repugnant enough, this ridiculous argument is actually attacking Neonatal Palliative Care. Women are dealing with the birth of a child who isn’t expected to live.  Your presidential and vice presidential nominees are politicizing the tragic loss of a newborn incapable of surviving outside of the womb and the parents are having to decide what is the most humane way (as in the least amount of plain and suffering) for that child to be treated before passing away.

That. That is what Trump tried to score political points about during the debate. The Virginia Governor who Trump claims supported after-birth abortions – the one so many of you showed an edited video clip to prove it– that Governor was talking about what choices a mother might have to make if her fetus had severe deformities, or wasn’t otherwise viable.

Trump should be ashamed of himself. And you should be ashamed for supporting that bullshit. And honestly, we are a little surprised you don’t get nearly this upset when they are shooting our kids at school. We mean it. Really.

Why is all the blame on women ? Don’t they know that it is MEN that get you pregnant? Pregnancy is a life changing event for women, men are not affected by “something going on with a woman’s body”. They still go to work and still chase women with their private parts, no consequences for them! Please add more consequences for men and stop blaming women!

The thing is, whilst I agree that what the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinians is disgusting, what makes you think the Republicans would do things any differently? If anything, Trump’s recent statements suggest he would throw more support behind Israel.

Way to say it! I applaud you. I just wish millions of more voters would give this their full attention, listen and read carefully, so they can finally acknowledge what baloney they’re being fed by Republicans. No child, teacher or school staff member should go to school fearing for their life. No woman should be denied healthcare

My son is a Social Worker in a neo-natal unit of a children’s hospital, where he helps those heart broken parents who have to confront the “will of God” that the child they have been loving isn’t compatible with life.

Those who call this “post birth abortion” deserve to reside in the lowest level of Hell that they claim to believe in. And deserve to be spit upon in this life.

In my best Margaret and Helen ironic voice: Of course it’s not okay to

I am not sure it would have any effect, but perhaps MAGAts should see what I saw as a nursing student several decades ago in the neonatal ward of a large teaching hospital. I saw babies whose mothers were not much more than children themselves, victims, most likely, of rape or incest. These babies were born with horrifying birth defects, such as anencephaly — the lack of a higher brain. These babies had no chance at a full life, and most of them did not make it past their first few months. The mothers’ health was damaged by having given birth so young. And not only do the right-wingers want to eliminate safe abortion, they also want to eliminate access to safe birth control methods and medications. They want it both ways, and do not want to bother with the fact that safe, available, and affordable contraception can prevent abortions. It becomes clear that these anti-abortion, anti-contraception people don’t care about abortion or contraception. What they are after is the oppression of women. And they make this clear in Project 2025.

This post is spot-on! It amazes me that people who claim to be Christian have no empathy or compassion for women (and men) who must make the heart-wrenching decisions you describe. And I truly believe if MEN were the ones who go pregnant, abortion would be a non-issue. Some have said it would be a sacrament!

Oh, you are absolutely spot-on in this post! It is beyond my comprehension how so-called Christians have no empathy or compassion for women in those gut-wrenching scenarios you described. I am sick to death of hearing “those women just use abortion as birth control”. SERIOUSLY? You can bet your bottom dollar if men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.

So you think we should support the party who is funding a genocide!? What about the multitude of children being killed by the Democratic party funding the Palestinian genocide. They also deserve our concern. That is blatant murder using our tax dollars. I support the party who wants to end these wars that are leading us into an atomic catastrophe. Our current so called leadership are all pompous fools. How are you missing that in your one sided rhetoric!

I agree with every word and love your emphasis on guns. But I have a question I keep asking: What about the fathers? Every fetus has a father. It’s one of the few things we can’t do alone. Why aren’t the men made responsible? Why aren’t the father’s shamed and put in jail? Why is it that only women carry the burden?

Pretend To Be Pro Life People apparently object to a non-viable infant receiving palliative care, and dying peacefully in a parent’s arms. They would prefer it to be tortured for a while with useless treatments and operations and tests, until its little body can’t take any more. They can’t admit this, so they’ve made up a story about “post birth abortion.” They fantasize about infanticide.

So true. When basically nothing happened across this country after all those small children were massacred at Sandyhook, I knew we were battling people who had their heads buried in the sand or up their a………! And it has happened over and over. More little children, more high school students, more college students, more people just shopping, going about their daily business. Republicans say “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” I can only say, if it wasn’t so damn easy for any idiot who wants a gun to get a gun maybe we wouldn’t have so many frequent senseless shootings in this country. And why does anyone need an assault weapon unless you’re planning on killing multiple people. Come on people, wake up and let’s enact some sensible gun laws and a total ban on assault weapons. And while we’re at it Let’s “turn the page” on Trump and his BS!

My thoughts exactly! Thank you for spelling out out so well that someone with a 74 IQ and a fifth grade education level (ahem) can understand it.

The only point I would add is that they keep closing women’s healthcare clinics and denying them access to inexpensive and convenient birth control education and medication, therefore compounding the problem exponentially.

Bravo. Perfectly stated. And Trump was not ‘shot’ either time. Last week there was not a shot fired from that rifle posed o the fence. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was not loaded.

His poor bloodied ear was not shot either. That bullet came near him and other bullets killed rally goers (does he ever mention those names , or just Ashley who broke into the Capitol through a window?) But there is no way an ear shot with a bullet from a high powered rifle would be perfectly normal in four days. Just another GOP scam.
