If Only The Trump Presidency Could Be Counted In Dog Years. My Apology To Dogs. #ImpeachNow

From Helen:

Margaret, I used to assume that the majority of racists were probably Republican, but now I am beginning to wonder if the majority of Republicans are actually racists. How else do you explain a party still standing behind this Make America Great Again Asshat of a President?  And while I know that I am painting with broad strokes, I still just see a canvas of predominantly white people making up excuses for the racist things coming out of Trump’s mouth. The man is 12 shy of a dozen and we need to get him out of office.  Hurry Mueller. Please hurry.

Earlier this week I did that Twitter thing and said that I wished Trump would not come to Texas. And for that, one of Trump’s supporters called me a c**t.  Listen.  It’s not a nice word but I’ll take being called the C word over being called a Trump Supporter any day.  And I have good reason to not want Trump to come to Texas.

Before we all turned our attention to Harvey there was a lot of talk about Trump’s handling of Charlottesville. In case you forgot a white supremacist… neo-Nazi… white separatist… hell let’s just call it like we see it… a member of the Trump base drove  a car into a group of counter protestors in Charlottesville killing a young woman named Heather Heyer. Trump said he needed time to determine how he felt about what happened. His initial reaction was to blame many sides. Then two days later he condemned hate groups only to then flip again and show us what he really thought by  saying there was blame on both sides. Both sides. On one side there were Nazis and one of them took a car and ran over a young woman. On the other side there were no Nazis.  None. Not even one on a bicycle named Rolfe. Nazis on one side. No Nazis on the other. But somehow our President came down in the middle, unable apparently to take sides even though we literally fought and won a war about the No Nazis thing. This isn’t a Mel Brooks play. These Nazis didn’t dance and sing. They marched and chanted death to Jews.

And then a few days later another horrible  man – this one seemingly not a Nazi – drove a van into a bunch of people in Barcelona killing thirteen. Almost instantly Trump blamed Radical Islamic Terrorists. No sides. Just an entire religion to be blamed. Of course, that Nazi in Charlottesville being a Christian and all has no bearing. Maybe if more Muslims were Nazis… I don’t know. Just thinking out loud.

Anyway, at this point a natural disaster couldn’t get here soon enough to change the media narrative so Trump did the next best thing. He created one of those man-made disasters called a Trump Rally in Phoenix. And with the nation still trying to heal from Charlottesville, Trump proceeded to whine for an hour about how badly he was treated over Charlottesville. Hey Jackass.  You know who was mistreated in Charlottesville? The non-Nazi Heather Heyer who was murdered by one of your supporters.  Mr. President have you no shame? Are you really that insecure?  For the love of God the other side was marching  in support of white supremacy and the war to uphold slavery. And they were doing so because they felt they had a friend in the White House. Are you truly incapable of being even somewhat presidential?

Which brings us back to Harvey or actually Sherriff Joe’s pardon just as Harvey rushed ashore.  Everyone knew this storm was going to be catastrophic.  Even Trump tweeted how huge it was going to be as if that somehow made him more important.  And then minutes later he tweets that he is pleased to announce his pardon of the nation’s most famous racist. That’s the way he set the stage for being a Uniter-In-Chief during a crisis. But I’m the cunt.

So I said openly that I would prefer Trump not to come to Texas.  After all, there is no one here to pardon yet. Anyone remember how angry Republicans were at Chris Christy for complimenting Obama’s response to Sandy? Considering how much turmoil Trump has been in since taking office, I think Texas Govenor Abbott probably needs to thank Obama as well.  But we all know that’s not going to happen. Like it or not (I do not), Trump is in the White House now. But honestly does anyone in Texas think he’s going to make us all feel better when he gets here?  The idiot already bragged about how big his win was in Missouri quite literally while rescue workers were pulling Houstonians from their rooftops.  And then hawked a book while seniors were being evacuated from flooded nursing homes.  He couldn’t even stand up to Nazis. Why do we think he’ll act presidential during one of the worst natural disaster in decades?

Mr. Trump stay home. You can Tweet from afar. We don’t need you to come here and remind storm refugees the percentage by which you won Texas.  This State has enough morons in politics that one more isn’t going to do us any good. (Anyone read about the law Texas just passed that will make it easier for insurance companies to screw Texans after this storm?)

But back to Arpaio. When asked about the timing of the announcement, Trump proudly proclaimed that he wanted to take advantage of the huge ratings during a huge hurricane. My God but what a huge asshole this man is. I am not sure we can survive 4 years. Considering it’s Trump, do you think we can count this presidency in dog years? My apology to dogs. I mean it. Really.

 From Margaret:

Helen, hasn’t Texas suffered enough? Having the Trump circus come to town will benefit no one. That clown car needs to just keep moving toward higher ground and hopefully that higher ground is Trump Tower never to return.

My heart aches for you, dear, and your beloved Texas.

  1. Actually, Tilphousia, Mr Obama was President during Hurricane Isaac.
And while the dingbat bunch insists the only thing he did was play golf he and the Fed were preparing for days before it made landfall in this country to help Americans affected
    http://whitehouse.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/28/obama-on-hurricane-isaac-now-is-not-the-time-to-tempt-fate/
The last thing anyone needs is the Pres, any Pres, showing up and taking attention away from very real needs during a storm.
Mr Obama never did play the drama routine and do empty gesture crap during emergencies.
Mr Trump, it seems, can’t help himself from engaging in theater in any event- especially a disaster
Pffft! on you anonymous- what a load of horsepunky. String together all the crap you want about Mr Trump keeping you safe- it doesn’t change the fact plenty of Americans are less safe because of the far-right hate behavior like in Charlottesville and that by and large all of us are much safer from Islamic terrorism than lightning strikes or choking on your dinner- before and now-

  2. To the last respondent: President Obama did not play gold during the mentioned hurricane. He wasn’t president, Bush was. As for the donations, not one penny has been received nor did traitor trump provide anything other that photo shoots to stoke his bloated ego. Since buying the presidency with the help of his Russian friends, hate crimes have increased ten fold. White supremacist terrorism is far more likely to kill you than anything imported. Traitor trump just refuses to admit it. He has given zero for aid to anyone. Why? Because he is a phychopath a serial liar who can’t open his mouth without lying at least 87% of the time. You would know this if you got you head out of the sand and read real news. But you probably won’t. Traitor trump is a cancer. No worse than that. Not only an illness but the biggest embarrassment to the United States in decades. His ignorance may well start the last war ever seen on this planet. His greed is so destructive it will take years to undo the evil he has perpetrated on the American people. So if you like polluted food, water, and air, well he’s your man. If you want your Constitutional rights stripped away, he’s you man because he believes only he has rights. Start fact checking. I did.

  3. Was it’s the fact he is not a politician or the fact that he responses to flood ravaged states and gives a million dollars , Obama played golf during Hurricane Izac while Mr Trump responded with a truck load of supplies , or maybe because he’s struggling to keep terrorist out of our country , so you don’t see your head rolling down the road , I guess because he wants to put our homeless and vetts first might upset you , I’m trying to figure out how this man our President who has done so much good in a short amount of time could make you so mad , it’s not personal is it Margaret , Because it’s just business , the business of leading a country away from a path of terrorism takeover and one world order the previous administration had us on , I thank the lord He is our leader and I still have my head and that I’m not working on a FEMA farms , I can still go to the market place with no fear of being bombed , so I’m guessing it must be personal hatred from person towards another , and is so SAD I’ll pray for you Margrette so you can see the way , most Americans want to live ,FREE and Thank God we found someone to represent who has the kahonas to make it happem

  14. Thanks Helen! I have been thinking about this a lot. Everything happens for a reason. I think this president’s election is meant to teach us how far we have strayed from our basic humanity. He totally personifies the people a lot of us have become, disconnected from other human beings, with electronics taking over engaging with other humans. He got elected because people saw his celebrity and supposed money and that was it. They refused to hear and see anything else, whether he defrauded his workers and contractors, set up a fake university, or even bragged about the grabbing thing. That is on us that he is representing us and that is a shame. The only solace I feel is that the majority did not vote for him. Eventually, everybody will see what the ones that did not vote for him saw. It is just a matter of time.

  17. My heart goes out to the folks in Texas. This is beyond anything we have ever seen and is continuing. It would have been best for him to stay away, but he would have gotten crap for it. I did read about the head of FEMA and he appears to be very capable and experienced in working with states and local communities. Yet, everyone is in for a tough job and it will be a very long and arduous fight. The President, as is his wont, is overselling how well things are going. It is too soon to tell, but the it is inspiring to see the neighbors helping neighbors as well as the public officials.

As for the pending impeachment, I do believe the President and his team have a lot to answer for and will have to do so. There is too much lying, changing of stories and attacking going on. There are two key questions that need to be asked of this President – 1) why are you so nonchalant about Russian hacking and influence that continues to this day? and 2) if you are not guilty, why are you acting so guilty by changing stories, obstructing with the investigation, not releasing your tax returns and being so adamant? A non-guilty person would say “I have nothing to hide.”

  18. Brilliant writing and comments. When I read some news article this AM from him at Camp David (really!) – who got him there? – and read his sugary words, I figured he had a speech writer pinned to the wall demanding that writer say nice stuff – well, somebody did. And do not forget, asshat is being allowed to be the way he is.

  19. Helen, Trump is not an asshole. Assholes are natural. Barring illness or injury, they quietly do their job for a lifetime with no fanfare or grandstanding. No, Trump is an asswipe: a flimsy piece of paper made by man, covered in crap, and belonging in the sewer.

  20. Oh, my tired stars and garters! I predicted Trump would never “pivot”. What you saw was what you got. It is now time to lean back a little and remember a quote from Marcus Aurelius that goes something like its “one thing to be a member of a majority, but it is better to not be a member of the insane.” It is raining right now up here near D.C. and will continue on for the rest of the day. This ran started in the wee hours of this morning. We have been told to expect leftovers from Harvey. And that there is likely to be a coastal storm starting around South Carolina and working north along the shore. Do we ever get anything that starts out in the Atlantic? Well, D.C. is about 70 miles from Chesapeake Bay. There are towns, cities, villages etc. on both sides of the Potomac between D.C. and the Bay. Yes we do manage to get something, and I am just hoping that it will not entwine with the Harvey leftovers. There are plenty of creeks and wetlands around here (we don’t call them bayous) but ever more paved ground. Will cross my fingers, but keep my toes set for running!

Perhaps that hoofwanking cockwomble, barking yam evil, evil immoral, bigot, racist , nazi (did I miss anything) will drop his yuge ass on one as he blovates about how great he is. I for one would love to see a video of him with a fire ant colony in his panties. That would be great for ratings.

  26. Best letter yet. Everything is spot on. I’m ashamed, and actually frightened daily, that this man is the leader of the free world. Not only have we learned how touched he is, but how many “fellow” Americans were hiding their bigotry in the shadows. I, being naive, had no idea how many racists exist in this country. More importantly, stupid people.
I live in AZ. I’m a liberal. I’m a native. What happened with Joe Arpaio disgusts me beyond belief. We have trying to get rid of him & to gain justice for years. Hopefully Trump’s karma will be to take his place. Unbelievable bullshit. Thank you, Margaret & Helen.

  35. The only consolation I can think of is that when Trump is in Texas to brag about the size of his hurricane, he will no doubt say horrible, selfish things that will alienate more people.
You’d think 35% would be a low enough approval rating to get kicked out. Any other job, it would.

  45. Exactly, on all counts. At this point, my belief that this “president” is able to comprehend the reality of anything is less than my belief that a rabid possum can be shown the folly of running around foaming at the mouth and biting people. It’s just not going to happen. The possum bears no responsibility; he’s sick. But the possum-tenders who stand around and watch it happen, and express their support and/or their “deep concern” at the fact that the possum is deranged and dangerous everywhere he goes, certainly do. To change analogies, they’re like the Romans who probably stood around and said, “Give us another tune on that good ol’ fiddle, Nero! That’s just a fake fire over there…”
