Yep. I called her a bitch and I am not taking it back.

I am so surprised at how many of you have come to my little web page blog.  People didn’t think I was 82 so I thought maybe you couldn’t see the pictures but then someone called me old and fat so I guess you can.

If you are looking for my post about Sarah Palin it appears right before this one.  I guess I hit a nerve with my little story about the Governor, but I just got so mad when my friend Margaret told me she was thinking about voting for McCain and thought Sarah was kind of interesting.  Well, we’ve survived a lot of differences over the years so I guess we can survive this one.

For those of you calling me names.  Shoot.  I’m 82 and have been called much worse by much better.  Margaret all but called me a communist for posting it in the first place and told me my sailor mouth would get me in trouble!  I don’t mind.  Besides I started it by calling that fool from Alaska a bitch.  Surely you could not have watched that debate without realizing she has no idea what end is up.  I remember a girl like that in high school.  Her name was Sally and we used to say that she wasn’t right in the head.

I saw Gwen Ifill on a TV program this weekend and she said there really wasn’t anything she could do once Palin decided to “blow me off”.  Well, call me stupid but I thought debates had rules so that both parties could be evaluated equally.  “Oh Gosh Joe.  There you go again.”  Yep.  There he did go again – answering the “gosh darn” question that was being asked.   I would like to say I am sorry, but I am not.  That woman is an idiot.  Sarah not Gwen.  I like Gwen most of the time.

A lot of you have asked me to keep writing stuff.  Well, I will watch the debates tomorrow night and if I get mad again, I will write it all down for you here.

One more thing.  The only comments that really made me mad were the fools that came here preaching the bible and all that pro-life crap.  Most pro-life nut cases need to actually get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.  Sarah Palin had the choice to talk to her daughter about sex.  Her daughter had the choice to listen or not listen.  Her daughter had the choice to have sex or not have sex.  And once she was pregnant she had the choice to keep the baby, put it up for adoption or terminate the pregnancy.  And as much as it scares me that the Palin clan is producing a whole new generation of women like my old friend Sally, the fact is they have a choice.  All I ask is that women respect the right of other women to make their own choice because I remember what it was like when we didn’t have a choice.

Thanks for stopping by. I mean it.

She turns on the charm and people are so oblivious that they think charm qualifies you for public office. Are we so lazy and brain dead that we can’t see she has no substance? I am old enough to remember woman fighting for equal rights (which we don’t totally have even yet) and the extreme discrimination that we suffered. This woman sets us back 50 yrs. She’s living a posh life and has been gifted an opportunity well beyond what she’s earned. Bravery is standing up without a crowd to cheer you on. Bravery is doing the right thing when you know darn well it could cost you dearly. Taking risks to do what is just and right. I see none of that in the political circus Palin has been perpetuating. Cowardly people have just as many kids as brave people do, both with Downs and otherwise, so before you throw that hockey mom, pitbull bravado stuff out at us Tibbs, shut your pie hole.

You think what’s going on in the middle east is bad? Keep pushing your bullshit agenda and you’re gonna push good people past their points of tolerance. It is not a fight you can win, not now, not ever. There are too many good people to let that happen. Again, why don’t you take on something you DO have power over? Certainly not MY body or what I do with it. Why don’t you volunteer regularly at Planned Parenthood, so you can get to know these women. Why do you have such a problem with tax money going to help support single moms, yet don’t want them to get an abortion either. As long as they have the baby, it appears you don’t care what happens to it after its born. Hypocrisy, pure and simple.

And Chelsey, it is not only ypur generation, but many generations who have bought into the lies and deceit, who have paraded around for years pretendng to know what’s best for everyone else, while attempting to destroy the very fabric of this country. In fact, I think your generation probably has a clearer picture than most. Stay active girl and give em hell.

And Helen, I keep reading other blogs about you. Some are convinced you are some kid with an agenda. I say, who cares? Don’t shoot the messenger, right. I kinda like picturing a good old fashioned liberal Grandma at the wheel here, but its ok with me if its not. The message is the same no matter who or what wrote this. Sarah Failin is a bitch. An uninformed, poor excuse for a ‘modern’ woman. So whoever you are dear, keep plugging away. And if you don’t know how to shoot, well just give me a call! I’m ready for the civil war, if it comes to pass, and will fight them with everything I have. My children are entiteld to a future, and not to hail from the country that would be a total laughing stock if this dumb duo make it to office. How would we ever recover????

  84. A friend of mine recently had me read what you said about Sarah Palin (and I agree 100%). I loved it so much that I read this entry, also. I laughed my ass off up until the very end.

“I remember what it was like when we didn’t have a choice.”

For some reason, this really hit me hard in the face. I’m 21-years-old. I have no idea what it’s like to not have a choice. But when I read that, I just about started crying. It’s awful how women have worked so damn hard to have rights and have a choice, and now those same women have to stand by and watch in their old age while my generation destroys everything they worked to gain for us. I don’t think we realize how spoiled we really are.

    Also,

“Most pro-life nut cases need to actually get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. ”

I think this applies to just about everyone who thinks that their cries and moans are going to make a positive difference for the rest of society! These people don’t seem to realize how much the rest of us DON’T care.

  85. Helen, I like your writing, but you’ve obviously drunk the pro-choice Kool-Aid.

You know when to stop trusting people? When they hide behind euphemisms and lies. Orwell called it NewSpeak. “Reproductive rights” means the right for women to destroy their unborn children. The term “Pro-choice” is pure marketing designed to appeal to the American ideal of freedom. “Anti-choice” is a perfect example of a bullshit term. The word is “abortion”. If one is so afraid to use it, they should probably be afraid to promote it! If Planned Parenthood really wanted to promote choice, that choice would be accompanied by ultrasound machines so that women could see the life they are snuffing.

“Pro-choice” wants nothing to do with this sort of education. It prefers to have women blindly shoot their unborn children in the back rather than having them look at them. No wonder so many women who undergo an abortion are left mentally and emotionally scarred.

But I’m reasonable. I’d be ok with a rape and incest exception as long as every crisis-pregnancy mother-to-be is given full non-biased information about the negative aspect of taking an unborn life and is required to see a sonogram. After all, the #1 cause of unwanted pregnancies isn’t rape or incest. It’s carelessness.

By the way, you’re never too old to change your mind. Norma McCorvey is now pro-life!

  97. I’m almost 16 years old and I completely agree with all of your points of view. Palin would take so much away from my generation if she were elected, and it’s no up to us, we cannot vote yet. Some of the things I have heard about her are absurd. I’m as liberal as teenagers can get. My best friends and I took copies of “the onion” (a liberal newspaper in washington DC) and wrote “Equality for all” or when read backwards “All for equality”. We sat on the ground of a metro station for a good portion of the summer, people took our pictures and were trying to set up a website to stand up for what we believe in. Sarah Palin is the type of person that would be HORRIBLE for the job, even some conservative republicans are saying that she is “in way over her head”. For any republicans that find their way here, make the right choice for my generation, give us young women the choice, set an example. Thank you.

  107. Hi Helen! Love the blog so far!

Greetings from Alaska! Yes, that’s right, I’m from the infamous state spawing a certain woman who could be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Let me tell you, many up here do not support Palin. In fact, very few people I know actually do support both her and her extreme conservative views, and those that do tend to be the hardcore religious Republicans.

As for the PFD, or as some like to call it up here “Payday”, yes we do get money from the government. And yes, many tend to spend it on crap. However, for those people who can’t afford it, the PFD is used to pay for doctor’s visits, dentists, college, bills, heating for the winter, and many other things that we might not be able to afford otherwise. Mine personally went to paying for my school loans and towards my hospitals bills from my car crash last year. Not too mention the $800 or so I’ve put away when we get taxed heavily on it in the spring, a thought some people might not have considered. So it isn’t fair that we get free money here, but in some villages here in the state, that money is much more than a new plasma flatscreen.

I don’t like Sarah Palin. I don’t like her secretive policies, her loyalist attitude, or cutesy performance with the public. She does not speak for me as an Alaskan, as a woman, or as a possible future mother. Nor does she speak for my family, my boyfriend, or my friends. No thank you Sarah, I prefer someone with a more open (and intelligent) mind.

“One more thing. All I ask is that women respect the right of other women to make their own choice because I remember what it was like when we didn’t have a choice.”

It’s my wrongful assumption that anyone over 70 is not voting for a person of color and are blinded by Palin’s winks. I just have to say, shame on me! You proved me wrong and I’m very happy about that.

With the election decision less than 30 days away, I”m getting anxious and vacillating between hopeful and incredibly depressed. Anytime I get down I want some SNL skits with Tina Fay or turn into Daily Show to hear from the intellects of the world. I do wonder how we’ve gotten to the point of potentially having someone run our country who will bring us back to pre-Roe v Wade, is anti-condom!, and will just ‘tolerate’ a group of people (aka gays and lesbians). I mean, seriously!
Plus, I find it ironic that Palin and McCain keep saying how they want less gov’t yet they don’t want to leave people alone in terms of their own choices in their own lives.
I’m celebrating today though. I’m celebrating knowing there are like-minded, intelligent folk out there 🙂 Thanks for this, and go Obama!!

  117. Dear Helen,
I especially appreciate your “pro-choice” comments. I wish there were more people like you who would mind their own business and not try to creep into other people’s wombs.
I just love the way the “anti-choice” people (I refuse to call them pro-life, because they aren’t) say they want to take government off their backs–except when it comes to women’s bodies. Then it’s okay for government to come into your bedroom, bathroom, and doctor’s office and tell you what to do.
Some years ago, I used to serve as an escort into a women’s clinic. There were protesters outside because some of the doctors did abortions in the clinic. One time a couple was walking in; the man was clearly a blue-collar guy (the type Sarah thinks she knows so well). When the protesters yelled at him not to bring his wife inside, he yelled back: mind your own business, are you going to pay for this child and raise it? Things like that. I loved it because he was real. That couple may not have liked the choice they made, but I’ll bet they appreciated that they had a choice. And I’ll bet they remembered, as you and I do, when the only choices were: have the baby, give it up, or go to a dirty, back alley clinic. Not good choices.
So please keep on blogging. I must confess, I’m kind of new to this, but I just love the pure democracy of it—even the people who want to shut you up (AS IF!) have the right to say so. I’ll stop now. Keep on keepin’ on!

  162. Calli, Honey, I beg to disagree. I have already given my reasons as to why this constitutes as free speech rather than hate speech, and I do so hate repeating myself. Why are you so wrapped up in this anyway? If you are so fundamentally opposed to what people write on this blog, then DONT READ IT. It is obviously offending you to the extreme to read what Helen wrote originally, and what people are commenting on afterward is offensive to you as well. Instead, why dont you employ your freedom of speech and spew your hate in a blog of your own, rather than encroach upon others’ freedom to write and think what they want? Other people have tried to be very tolerant of you on this blog thus far, but it is obvious that collectively, we are tired of you trying to cut everyone down. So do it on your own space, not on someone else’s.

I very well know what hate speech is. I am a political science major, I kind of know something that is going on. Im not an idiot and I hate it when people try to paint me that way in order to try and make their own point sound more valid. And I really do not appreciate it when people try to demean and belittle me by saying honey and things of that nature in such a blatantly arrogant manner, so if you could refrain from that in the future, that would be absolutely terrific.

I know you’ve heard this before but, “What experience does Obama have?” 3 years in the senate where he avoided voting most of the time because he didn’t want his record to show what he really believes? Fact is he is a suave character who has won people over because he is so likable. I do like some of his plans better. For one, the way he doesn’t like the way NAFTA has been for the country. I agree with him on that and some other issues but… I think that McCain’s health care credit is a good idea. It doesn’t bother me if it’s taxed because I am self-employed and don’t have any help from an employer or the government at all right now. I know there are millions just like me. I also like the fact that I will get more back a deduction from my child. I can go on about the “issues” all day. Tell me something you don’t like about McCain and something you like about Obama instead of calling names and making fun of the way they look or the gosh darn way they talk.

I showed one of my friends your blog entry about Palin being a bitch, and we got into a HUGE fight about it, because he is basically in love with Palin (and isnt afraid to admit it, which is the scary thing). He called it hate speech but I said just because this woman hates Palin does not make this hate speech. Hate speech is an unsubstantiated claim about someone simply because of what they were born to be, not what they have made themselves to be throughout their life with their choices. He fails to understand that distinction.

So I just wanted to say thank you for your insight, I really appreciate it (even if some people dont), and I cant wait to read more!

  189. Dear Helen,

Keep it up! I’m sure you get as abig a kick out of the stupid people’s reactions as I do. Take Jonathan, sadly hilarious, he believes what he writes. It’s funny how they get their knickers in such a bunch, over an elderly woman’s point blank blog. I’ve had quite a time, reading these erroneously misled posts and thinking, “These people are not for real, couldn’t be! No way could a real human actually be that stupid!”.

And damn straight on the abortion issue. What gets me is, what about the LIVING CHILDREN. What about them? What about hungry, homeless, healthcareless American children? Why no respect for the LIVING, but all the ruckus over the unborn? Where is the common sense in that? So its okay to kill innocent Iraqi children to keep your gas guzzling SUV up and running is it? SICK SICK SICK. These people are truly demented and quite sick. Until every last child on earth has a warm place to call home and all the foster homes are completely empty, all have access to quality healthcare, an education, and regular healthy meals, I will not listen to a single word an Ant-Choicer has to say. The Children of the World are hurting and they need us. Yet you don’t see the AntiChoicers lining up to help the LIVING. WHAT, ARE THEY UNDESERVING? So what if you think they don’t deserve it because their mom is homeless or a crackhead. Did the child ask for that, and why should they suffer because of their parents illness? What fault of it is theirs? All this bullshit talk of doing what’s right, but then turn their backs on the living is not only inhumane, but absolutely despisable. If they don’t understand this they never will. How many LIVING children must suffer and die while they busy themselves with telling me what to do with my body? Foolish. Why not take on something that you can actually DO something about? Cause they’re not gonna get access to MY womb, EVER. Respect the living!!

You’re right, McStupid and his pathetic subhuman supporters have been eating off the propoganda machine for so long they don’t even know the truth when they eat it anymore. I guess if you’re fed a steady diet of lies and deceipt you learn to expect no more. Sad, stupid people, I almost feel sorry for them…..

Keep setting them up dear, and knocking them out. And all the fuss over your age, or who really wrote this, come on, people, do you really have that much free time on your hands? Wow. If you need something to do, and wanna earn a buck or two, I hear McStupid an Failin’ are actually HIRING their own protesters against our man. How lame is that? They don’t have enough passionate smart people to speak out against O on their own, so they had to bring oin their own recruits! LOL LOL LOL LOL That should make your day!

  202. I actually have watched all the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates to this current point. I plan to watch the third one as well. Honestly, while putting my own personal bias aside, there were times when both candidates (Presidential and Vice-Presidential) failed to answer questions and instead chose to go off on a tangent. This is not a new concept to political debates, it’s just now finally being brought to public attention. Seriously, instead of spending your time ‘ripping’ Palin apart, EVERYONE on this board should be furious that this is how the American political system has always been! Sad…

Secondly, the only reason any of you are going off on gender stereotypes, is because you are affected by them , whether consciously or unconsciously aware of it. Trust me, that was an interesting discussion in psychology on politics, lol. Do any of you think the news media would have ranted about a male candidate leaving a special needs child with his wife? If you were to answer honestly, you would have to say no. There would not have been an additional word mentioned about it. I agree that if anyone pulls a gender card it is pretty pathetic, but I’ve never seen a blatant demostration of it.
Andy, it’s not so much that it is irritating of what people see in newspapers and television, but unfortunately media stations and even several of the articles written are biased in the US. I just find it difficult to believe that if people only use one source instead of several sources without bothering to sift through opinions and facts, how can they say their choice is knowledgeable? Political efficacy is not exactly the strongest point for the majority of Americans.

If she were a nice woman who kept her nose out of the press and just got on with life, fair point–but that is one thing Palin is not. You think because you claim to know her, the rest of the world should write about… what… instead? My oh my. Sarah is just doing her job, which requires extreme publicity. The people want to know about her life and her family, half the time it is the media making up nonsense and spreading it across the newsstands. All politicians have to deal with this. And for Sarah being the governor of Alaska and being a beautiful woman with a large family sure gets hit hard. It just irritates me that people like you who do not even know her judge her by what you see on television and read in papers. Under all of that is a great person. 218. I must say, I do agree with most of the last two posts. I think Mrs. Pallin is horrifically unqualified, bitchy and lying. It is nice to know that some one has the courage to stand up and say something. As a young man in a college area, I am surrounded by women full of feminist values, all of which I respect. But just as with any other group, I feel that many use the tenuousness of majority’s grasp on what is and is not acceptable behavior and speech to their unfair advantage, actually reversing the rolls and suppressing the majority groups. The point is equality for all, not a reversal of rolls.
Sarah Pallin epitomizes these unfortuante habits. She claims to stand for women everywhere, then plays the women card any time she is criticized. When one cannot answer a question relating to international relations, their gender has nothing to do with their ability to answer, and most people I have met will not judge her answer based on gender stereotypes. Either she can or cannot answer, and calling her out on her inability to answer even the smiliest questions that are relevant to assisting the running of this country is not a sexist slurs.
Her lack of qualifications are real, her claims are false, both about her abilities, her history of progress, and her statements about others. These are the reason I will not vote for her, and her abject bitchiness just make me feel better about the choice.

I have voiced my opinions and have been ganged up on from 99% of the people on this site because they are for Obama or because I didn’t proof my comment and forgot an a or mispelled a word. Go ahead and tell Helen you love her and she’s your hero because she cuts down Palin’s family and calls her names. Takes a lot of guts to cut someone’s children down. If my children make mistakes, I wouldn’t want some self-righteous grandma poking fun at them. Go McCain! Palin, nice hair, keep teasin’ it – I love it- Good thing you have tough skin! Glad my eyes were opened and I changed my vote.

  256. Oh, yeah, Helen……one more thing. As our economy tanks, and our retirement accounts fade away with the stock market, did you see this?

Wall Street Journal blasts John McCain

“When you graduate 894th out of a class of 899, eventually it will show up.

“And John McCain’s mediocre performance at the Naval Academy is showing up big time this week in his total lack of understanding of the nation’s financial crisis.

“He told us he didn’t know much about the economy… now he’s proving it.

“So much so that the Wall Street Journal, perhaps America’s leading financial publication, is blasting McCain over what its editorial board sees as inaccurate and, ‘unpresidential’ comments about the crisis in America’s financial system.

“If you’re a Republican running for president of the United States and the Wall Street Journal basically says you’re an incompetent buffoon, you’re in serious trouble.”

  260. Helen!

Bless you for your heartfelt words. Long may you write and speak the truth!

Today’s blog caught my eye: “The only comments that really made me mad were the fools that came here preaching the bible and all that pro-life crap. Most pro-life nut cases need to actually get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. Sarah Palin had the choice to talk to her daughter about sex….”

Today, I just “Googled” some questions I had about Sarah Palin, “you betcha”, to find this:

“Todd and Sarah eloped on August 29, 1988, to avoid the cost of a wedding.” (http://marriage.about.com/od/politics/p/sarahpalin.htm)

The birth date of their first child, Track, is given as April 20, 1989. (http://www.alan.com/2008/08/29/conservative-family-values/)

That’s about 8 months later, and there’s no mention of Track being either a preemie or full-term.

Personally, I don’t really care about any of the Palin family’s reproductive choices. It’s their business–just like it is the business of other Americans who have the same right to choose for themselves.

However, I take strong exception to the hypocrisy of Palin appointing herself as the country’s latest arbiter of morals. Miss Abstinence had her first-born just eight months after her quickie marriage. Maybe he was a preemie, but the timing and circumstances are just so curious, aren’t they?

And then, of course, the 17-year old Palin daughter now follows with her own “out of wedlock” pregnancy. That whole quickie marriage idea didn’t work for her, I guess. Jus’ kinda makes ya want to ask: “How’s that abstinency thing working for ya, Governor? It just seems like the ol’ apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Yeah, you betcha!” (wink, wink)

Meanwhile, the Christian fundamentalists just overlook all that “fornication” stuff. Let’s just not look at THAT part of the Bible, okay, because they are like us, one with us, we want them, and aren’t they cute, too? (Wink, wink)

    What absolute hypocrisy.

If, by some terrible chance, these two brainiacs (the “Palin-McCain” ticket as she called it the other day) gain dominion over the rest of the United States, they will immediately eviscerate our laws and overturn women’s rights.

Separation of church and state? Not a chance….

Bush has only begun the damage to the U.S., as our economy falls apart and our men and women die in the Middle East due to lies and lack of planning, which will just be magnified a thousand times over by the Palin/McCain White House.

Yeah, that’s how the governor referred to the ticket the other day…Uh-huh. She wants to be in the TOP position. That ought to excite all those rednecks and right-wing fornicators and adulterers who “think” with their penis.

The rest of us who think with our brains have had enough.

    Vote Obama.

Obviously you were scarred by being forced to have an abortion. I can imagine having that forced upon you was horrible, since it was not your decision. However, forcing someone to continue a pregnancy, deliver, and raise a child that they are not ready and willing to love, can also have traumatic consequences – for both the mother & the child. Please realize that’s why, as women, that it’s important that it remain OUR CHOICE.

Thank you for stating what, obviously, many have felt but have not articulated. Palin is a disgraceful choice of VP. She has spewed lie after lie and no one in mainstream media has called her on it. If a man said half of what she has said they would have been tossed from the ring. I did think “bitch” was too strong a term until I heard Palin’s little speech associating Mr. Obama with terrorist. Now I am in complete agreement.
I support pro-choice because I believe every woman has the right to privacy and the right to choose, one way or the other. My beliefs are not the same as my neighbors and why should my beliefs be anymore valid then his/hers.

I have many worries regarding Governor Palin, not least of which is that she doesn’t appear qualified to run your country; a distinct possibility given Senator McCain’s age and previous health problems.

Some would say that my concerns aren’t relevant, as a Canadian living in London I don’t have a vote. But those who run the US have an impact on us all and I feel it’s important to pay attention to these things.

And Jonathan. Your post is laughable. You have no substance with which to base your stances so instead you verbally attack an 82 year old woman? I’m sure that your grandparents would be proud.

They are used to set off a direct quote or around a word, such as a slang word, that is not a normally used. It is also used to inject irony. So in other words you should have written, “you’re getting somewhat senile” without using the quotation marks, dumbass. Oh, and nice racial remark at the end there, idiot.

It’s refreshing to hear someone speak their mind, unlike Sarah Palin, who speaks some RNC writer’s mind in her dumb down homey way. Since when did it become a crime to be intelligent? I guess intelligent people don’t impulsively react to fear monger speech, the kind McCain (who was once honorable) and Palin (who is, by your analysis, a failed mother as well as politician) spew with reckless abandon.

My late grandmother (a feisty old Irish woman who unapologetically drank bourbon in the afternoon, and smoked unfiltered Pall Malls) would agree with you 169%. It’s a beautiful thing how age gives one a sense of clarity about life…you truly have things dialed…

  368. In my comment to your previous message, I wrote of Palin and soccer moms. I meant to type hockey moms. Please forgive me soccer moms, I mistakenly placed you.

Hockey moms; that in itself just goes to show how she is disconnected mentally and physically. How many hockey moms are there in the lower 48s and Hawaii and our protectorates? I venture to guess very few.

With that said, the republican party will only look out for and care about joe beer swigging six packers and hockey moms – which are few and far between.

Just think of all of the intelligent professional republicans “ladies” McCain could have selected and he chooses a pure frozen brained moron. He could have selected any number of intelligent professional republicans “ladies”. Certainly they exist. I can’t believe there are republican women that compare themselves to the idiot from the frozen tundra. If they do, good lord, what has happened? Can you imagine what those intelligent professional republicans “ladies” are thinking as they watch the news, the debates, and SNL? I’ll just bet they are boiling at the ears to think that the world believes all republican women are like Moose Palin.

McCain showed his ass to America by selecting Moose Palin. He needed a good joke and by gosh, by golly, by gum, geewillerkers, wink-wink, he got the joke he needed. And it’s a pure shame she’s too stupid to see that he is using her to say “see I told you, women are morons. Look what I got.”…….. and the men laugh.

Just what America needs; a Precambrian fossil and a joke. We just can’t put those two on the world stage.

I’ll bet Bush is having a field day with this; “look Laura, somebody stupid-er than me”.
And I used to vote republican ……. imagine that…. well, you don’t have to slap me twice.

  388. Helen, you nailed it again with choice. As a matter of fact I got into a conversation with a co-worker who was very anti-abortion, he is very conservative and so I asked him a few questions.

Why do all the anti-abortion rallies seem to be populated by 80%men with their kids?
He didn’t know but said, “now that you mention it there does seem to be a much higher proportion of men at those rallies.
Because those men believe that women are inherently inferior and need to be dominated.
    I asked:
    Do you believe in GOD?
Do you believe GOD granted “all men” (& women) free will?
Do you believe in a day of reconing?
Do you think everyone will have to answer for their “choices” in life on that day?
His answer to all of these was yes.
Then I asked him, then why don’t you let GOD decide if what these people chose was wrong?
He thoughtfully said, “I never thought of it that way.”
Why do certain people think they have the right to choose for anyone else?
I’m sick and tired of religious nuts (Taliban,Alqueda,Fundamentalists) trying to tell me what is right. Especially when I see these crooks and sheisters on TV begging for money at the temple. Seems to me GOD might have a problem with that.
If you folks are really anti-abortion why don’t you raise money to open orphanages to offer another choice to women. Do something postive instead of trying to dictate. To coin a phrase WWJD.

Palin is not a feminist, she is an objectified poster child for the far right. Any woman that thinks this is progress for the womens’ movement is out of their damn mind. Our mothers and grandmothers did not fight for equal treatment, education, and the right to vote so that some biggot ditz could be vice president. If anyone supports her simply because she has a vagina, they will have no one to blame but themselves for the sexism their sisters and daughters have to face. I want to encourage anyone who reads this to educate themselves about where these politicians stand before voting. Put aside your fears and prejudices, and look at the real issues facing us as a country. Obama is the clear choice for president.

I am a tried and true fan of yours now.

And I agree that Gwen Ifill dropped the ball BIG TIME last Thursday, and was disappointed that she didn’t take a bit of responsibility for it when asked about it Sunday on “Meet the Press”. (And I’m usually quite fond of Gwen). The Republicans had already fought to limit the terms of the “debate” to protect Palin, and part of those restrictions were limits on how much back and forth would go on between the two nominees, so it was MOST DEFINITELY Gwen’s responsibility to hold Palin’s feet to the fire. It was disappointing to say the least. Both Ifill and Biden allowed her to act like a damn, cutesy-talking fool, spouting her memorized talking points. And I feel like a precedent has been set where in the last few days she can viciously attack Obama, shrilly lie, hypocritically avoid anything of substance and no one is throwing it back AT HER. She is somehow off the hook at the moment and it’s pretty disgusting.
